I'm the genetic counselor on the other end of every appointment at Minneapolis Genetics, and I started this practice because I've been the patient, too.
10-years ago, I was pregnant with identical twins. High-risk pregnancy, the works. I had spent years counseling patients through exactly this kind of situation, and I still spent nights awake at 2 a.m. googling things I already knew the answers to.
That experience didn't make me a different genetic counselor.
It made me a more honest one.
It taught me that even when you understand the medicine, the feelings underneath are still feelings. That waiting for results is its own kind of work. That sometimes what a patient needs most isn't more information, it's permission to feel scared and uncertain and the reassurance that we can figure out a plan together.

I started Minneapolis Genetics so I could practice the way I wished I’d been cared for. Longer sessions. One genetic counselor through the whole experience. Plain language.
My approach
This is a safe, judgment-free space to ask what's on your mind and walk away with a plan that makes sense.

You can bring your partner, a parent, or a support person. They can be in the room with you or join from anywhere. There are no dumb questions. You don't need to know the right vocabulary.
What a session feels like
You can cry. People do.
You can laugh, which also happens more than you'd think.
You can show up not knowing what you want to ask and we'll figure it out together.
You can change your mind in the middle of the conversation.
I Believe:
That's why every consult here is built around you:
your timeline, your concerns, your right to understand and decide what's best for your family.
